The book was required for my class. It's decent- it goes through and explains different parts of setting up a measurement system for an experiment. It may be because it's not my area of expertise, but it can be a little dry reading sometimes. I don't feel like it defines terms very well from time to time, but I get the gist of what is being said.4/5(2). By featuring analytical methods along with the descriptive material, the book develops the coherence of the measurement field. To augment and focus the emphasis on computer technology found in the previous edition, the book includes an entire chapter on computer-aided experimentation, featuring a detailed case study clearly showing how an /5(7). INTRODUCTION TO MECHATRONICS AND MEASUREMENT SYSTEMS provides comprehensive and accessible coverage of the evolving field of mechatronics for mechanical, electrical and aerospace engineering majors. The author presents a concise review of electrical circuits, solid-state devices, digital circuits, and motors- all of which are fundamental to Cited by: The early chapters in the book are essentially concerned with describing ways of producing high quality, error-free data at the output of a measurement system. Having obtained the data, the next consideration is how to present the data in a form where it can be readily used and analyzed.

This is a great foundation book for building measurement skills. It features a cute story about kids entering a sandcastle building contest and how the winner is determined. If you’re looking for a book to kick off your measurement unit, this is the perfect choice! Grades: K Mighty Maddie by Stuart Murphy. A measurement systems analysis (MSA) is a thorough assessment of a measurement process, and typically includes a specially designed experiment that seeks to identify the components of variation in that measurement process.. Just as processes that produce a product may vary, the process of obtaining measurements and data may also have variation and produce incorrect results. A system of measurement is a collection of units of measurement and rules relating them to each other. Systems of measurement have historically been important, regulated and defined for the purposes of science and s of measurement in use include the International System of Units (SI), the modern form of the metric system, the British imperial system, and the United States.

Special features include measurement systems, flexible organization with an emphasis on co-ordinate measuring machines, clean-room technology, surface roughness and machine vision.
